This was the last of three hit singles for the Mojos in 1964, the previous ones being the ok Everything’s Alright, which got to No 9 in the British chart, and the dreadful Why Not Tonight (25). Seven Daffodils, which was vastly superior to either of the others, reached 30 but would no doubt have done a lot better had not a rival version of the song been released at the same time. Although their offering was pretty insipid, the Cherokees split the market and got to 33.
