When Alan and I were in Mallorca a few years ago we started singing this and amazed ourselves that we could remember every word, fifty-odd years later. It was written by Peter Lee Stirling and reached No 5 in Britain in May 1964. Despite not being a chart-topper it sold a million and won a Gold Disc.
