I doubt if this would be acceptable today. It was written by Jiles Perry Richardson, better known as The Big Bopper, and recorded by Johnny Preston in 1958 with Richardson on background vocals. It was released in 1959 after the plane crash in which Richardson, Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens died. It topped the charts in America and Britain in 1960.
Here Preston does a terrible job of miming, and he looks pretty happy when the protagonists drown.
