This was written by Les Vandyke, a regular collaborator with Adam Faith. It went to No 4 in 1961.
It also featured in the film What a Whopper:
I cannot pin this down but I am sure a version of this song was the signature tune for a weekly show Faith did for Radio Luxembourg with his backing group the Roulettes. My recollection is that the lyrics were changed to something like:
‘The time has come
For us to . . . again
The time has come
To . . .
The Roulettes and I will sing for you
If you’ll just lend an ear.’
