It’s been recorded many times and here is one of the first.
This is Connie Francis in 1961. It reached No 6 in both America and Britain.
And this is the inimitable P J, giving it everything. Sadly, I could not find a video of a performance. He had a terrific voice and stage presence, and he should have gone a lot further than he did.
