As a tribute to Les McKeown, who has died at 65, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-56848233 here is the Rollers’ version of I Only Want To Be With You (or, as they had it, I Only Wanna Be With You). It reached No 4 in Britain and No 12 in America.
It was written by Mike Hawker and Ivor Raymonde and was first released in 1963 by Dusty Springfield as her debut single after leaving The Springfields. It peaked at number 4 in the UK in January 1964 and No 12 in America (oddly, the same chart positions as the Bay City Rollers 12 years later).
