The Beatles: The Honeymoon Song

This is the third in the season of Beatles tracks taken from my tapes used on the 1994 album Live at the BBC, which I wrote about here. It was written by Mikis Theodorakis (Zorba The Greek, 1964) for the 1959 film Luna De Meil (Honeymoon). The English lyrics were by William Sansom. It was broadcast on Pop Go the Beatles on August 6, 1963, with vocals by Paul McCartney. He is on record as saying: ‘The Honeymoon Song wasn’t a big hit but I liked it, thought it was a nice tune.
