This was written by Cooke and recorded in 1962. The other voice is Lou Rawls. It was released as the B-side of another Cooke composition, Having a Party, but became more popular and reached No 13 in America.
In 1965 The Animals took it to No 32 in America and No 7 in Britain. It was their last single with Alan Price.
Rawls released his own version in 1970 which charted at No 96.
John Lennon included it on his 1975 album Rock ‘n’ Roll.
