Jimmy Justice: When My Little Girl is Smiling

Square

Craig Douglas took it to No 9 in Britain on March 28. It’s too smooth for me.

A week later, on April 4, Jimmy Justice (born James Little in Carshalton in 1939) got to No 9 too. I think this is the best one.

The original, by the Drifters, got to No 28 in America and 31 here on April 11. I like it almost as much.

For some inexplicable reason the usually excellent Paul Jones did it in 1966. It is ruined by an over-active french horn player.
