Clarence ‘Frogman’ Henry: You Always Hurt The One You Love


This was written by Allan Roberts and Doris Fisher, and was first recorded by the Mills Brothers in 1941.

R & B singer Clarence ‘Frogman’ Henry (so nicknamed because of his ‘croaking’ on his 1956 debut record Ain’t Got No Home released it in 1961, when it got to No 12 in the US.

His other big hit was in the same year, when he took (I Don’t Know Why) But I Do, written by Bobby Charles and Paul Gayten, to No 4.
