This was written by Twyla Herbert and Lou Christie. The backing vocals were by The Delicates. Released in 1966, it reached No 16 in America and No 37 in the UK.

Many radio stations banned the song due to the lyrics:

Baby, the raindrops play for me

A lonely rhapsody ’cause on our first date

We were makin’ out in the rain

And in this car, our love went much too far.

It was exciting as thunder,

Tonight I wonder where you are.

MGM had Christie re-record the opening lyrics to release a ‘clean’ version with ‘we fell in love in the rain’ and ‘our love came like a falling star’:
