The Ronettes: Be My Baby

Ok, Phil Spector was a weirdo but he was a pop genius. I can’t think of a better producer (Brian Wilson not far behind) and he was a great songwriter. He co-wrote this one with Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich. It was recorded on July 5, 1963, at Gold Star Studios, Hollywood, and released as a single in August 1963. It topped the US charts and got to No 4 in Britain.

This is a live performance in 1965.
