Buddy Holly: Well . . . All Right

Square

This was written by Holly, producer Norman Petty and Crickets Jerry Allison and Joe Mauldin. It was released in 1958 as the B-side of Heartbeat, so did not have a chart placing of its own.

Blind Faith made it sound quite different on their only album, Blind Faith, in 1969.

Santana made it sound almost identical to Blind Faith on his Inner Secrets album in 1978.

In 1996 Nanci Griffith recorded it with the surviving Crickets. It’s quite sweet as a tribute.

Albert Hammond Jr did a nice version on his album Yours to Keep in 2006.
