This was written by husband and wife team Red Surrey and Jean Dinning, and released in 1959 by her brother Mark. Radio stations in the US and the BBC banned it but it reached No 1 in the US and No 37 in Britain the following year.
It was also recorded in 1959 by Alex Murray, who was once half of the Most Brothers with Mickie Most (they were not really brothers). I can’t discover if it made the charts but I suspect not.
