Miles Davis: Generique

Square

Somehow a jazz tune manages to sneak its way through the A&M security barriers. This is lovely; taken from Miles’s soundtrack to the 1958 cheese-eating-surrender-monkey movie Ascenseur Pour L’Echafaud, starring Jeanne Moreau.

  1. I think this would qualify as jazz: John Handy Quintet “Blues For A High Strung Guitar”.

I heard about this through Fairport. They used to play it in their very early days, with Simon Nicol playing the violin part.

The John Handy Quintet probably split up due to musical similarities.
