The Monkees: Daydream Believer

Square

As a tribute to the late Mike Nesmith, who Alan tells me was a lot better as a solo performer, here is the track which I consider the least bad of the Monkees hits.

It wascomposed by John Stewart, then a member of the Kingston Trio. It was recorded in June and August 1967, and released in the October. It topped the US chart, being their last No I there, and reached No 5 in Britain.

  1. Ah! That takes me back! I was 11 in 1967 and my sister and I adored the Monkees TV show which was full of their silly antics and catchy tunes. Many thanks for the trip down memory lane!
