Buddy Holly: What To Do

I think this is one of the best Buddy Holly tracks but information about it is sparse. He wrote it and I believe it is an acoustic demo recorded in 1957 or 1958, which would account for it being so short (less than two minutes). It first appeared on his second posthumous album The Buddy Holly Story, Vol. IIreleased in 1960.

Every time I write about Buddy Holly, I am so sad that he died at only 22.

The Hollies, who may or may not have named themselves in honour of the great Buddy, released their version on their 2003 compilation set The Long Road Home 1963 – 2003, but I can’t find out when they recorded it.
